We Have A Site For Art Yurt!

The Chilkoot Native Village Council has kindly allowed us temporary use of the campsite at the Old Village / Culture Camp this summer in exchange for help with groundskeeping. Of course, the Chilkoot Lake Road is still under 3-4 feet of snow, so we are praying for a little spring rain (rain dance, anyone?) and a minor heat wave to melt the snow!

Our yurt is in final stages prior to shipment. We have delayed the process somewhat because of SNOW and storage considerations. Now, so many things are coming together, we really want to get rolling! There is just all the snow in the way ...

More info about the area we will be "retreating"to:

Happy New Year!

Waxed Linen "Gallery Baskets" in the 3-4 inch diameter range, retail at $75 to $125 each. These are destined for Wings of Power Art Gallery in 2012.

How about that? Either I am getting smarter or Google has adjusted some things to accomodate my Kindle. Phew!

The pictures I have of baskets from the past few months are not professional quality as I can only upload photos from my cell phone until I get my computer fixed. But, for the sake of my own record keeping, I am going to post these pictures to my online gallery. If you are following me on facebook this may be redundant.

Fine Tapestry Wool "Burden Baskets" are the largest baskets I have produced to date at 7-8 inches diameter by 9-10 incches high. They are fashioned after the burden baskets utilized by most native women of indigenous tribes to gather kindling during the day. At night these baskets are hung empty outside the door to collect the burdens of family and guests as they pass through the door. This custom promotes the practice of peace.
